Desalting of circulating water - electrodialysis technology

Author:

Electrodialysis is an effective method for desalting circulating water. Electrodialysis is a membrane separation equipment, which uses the selective permeability of the membrane to separate substances in water, so as to achieve the desired purpose such as salt removal. In the electrodialysis process of desalting circulating water, circulating water is introduced into the electrodialysis unit, in which a fixed ion membrane is placed in alternating arrangement. By applying an electric field, positive charges attract anions and repel cations, while negative charges attract cations and repel anions. Due to the presence of the membrane, only cations can enter the adjacent cation region through the cation exchange membrane, and likewise, only anions can enter the adjacent anion region through the anion exchange membrane. This selective permeability allows the salt in the water to be effectively removed, thus improving the purity and quality of the water.

The electrodialysis technology of desalting circulating water has the advantages of less energy consumption, less chemical consumption, simple pretreatment, simple operation, easy to realize automation and good anti-pollution. This makes it widely used in seawater desalination, agricultural irrigation, food processing and other fields. For example, in desalination, electrodialysis technology can effectively remove salt from seawater and convert it into fresh water that can be used for agricultural irrigation or industrial purposes. In food processing, electrodialysis technology can control the salt content of food and improve the taste and quality of products.

In short, the electrodialysis technology of desalting circulating water is an efficient and environmentally friendly water treatment technology, which can effectively remove the salt in water and improve the quality and utilization value of water.
